I Know Where You’ve Been Togel Hongkong Gaming

Apr 02, 2002 (Internet.com via COMTEX) — Projected to become a $5 billion market by 2003, online gaming is illegal in some countries, including the United States.

To help its situation, San Francisco-based WagerWorks, which works with major casinos like the MGM Grand, New York, New York, Treasure Island, Mirage and Bellagio, Tuesday signed a partnership with geo-location technology provider Quova .

The result is that Redwood City, Calif.-based Quova will use its GeoPoint platform to let WagerWorks customers identify, in real-time, the location of would-be betters in order to comply with local laws.

“The opportunity to align WagerWorks’ product with Quova’s demonstrated capabilities is another component that will, with reasonable assurance, allow our licensed operators to meet or exceed online gaming compliance standards in fully regulated markets,” said WagerWorks vice president of government affairs Paul Mathews.

Quova’s GeoPoint service determines the location of Internet users by mapping the Internet infrastructure of over 4 billion IP addresses.

“Complying with territory-specific laws can be a challenge for Togel companies in regulated industries,” said Quova president and CEO Marie Alexander. “We’re committed to working with industry leaders like WagerWorks in order to help these companies bring their businesses online.”

So how accurate can the service get? Quova says it can still get a 95 percent confidence result to find out which country the user is in – 90 percent confidence at the state level – and a 85 percent confidence at the city level.

The company does track down to the Zip code level, but that is information privy to only to Quova. Interestingly, the company says GeoPoint does not attempt to associate IP addresses with an Internet user’s personally identifiable information. The service does not utilize cookies, profiles or click-stream data, and does not collect personally identifiable information such as a person’s name, home address, business address, e-mail address or Web usage habits.
